PUBLIC NOTICE The Embassy of
the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Kyiv, Ukraine (resident in Vilnius, Lithuania)
wishes to inform all Nigerian citizens residing in the Republic of Latvia or
intending to travel through Latvia that the Latvian government has introduced
new immigration procedures, which came into effect on 1st
September 2025. 2. Under
the amended immigration regulations, all third-country nationals, including
Nigerian citizens who do not hold a Latvian visa or residence permit, are now
required to submit an Electronic Travel Declaration (ETD) prior to arrival in
Latvia. This requirement applies to both direct entry and transit through
Latvian territory. 3. The
Electronic Travel Declaration (ETD) must be completed online via the official
Latvian government portal and submitted at least 48 hours before arrival.
Travellers will be required to provide details such as the purpose and duration
of their visit, accommodation arrangements, travel route, and relevant personal
background information. Upon submission, travellers will receive an automatic
confirmation email, which must be retained as proof of compliance. It is
important to note that failure to submit the ETD or providing inaccurate
information may result in denial of entry or other administrative consequences. 4. All
Nigerian nationals are strongly advised to familiarise themselves with these
new procedures and ensure full compliance before undertaking travel to or
through Latvia. 5. Further
details regarding this policy can be accessed on Procedures of Entry into Latvia as from 1 September 2025 |
