Deadline for linkaging of the National Identity Number (NIN) to Telephone lines

PUBLIC NOTICE

This is to inform the General public that the Embassy will be closed on Tuesday, April 9th and Wednesday, 10th April, 2024 to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

Consequently, the embassy will reopen on Thursday, 11th April, 2024.

                                                                           NEW PASPORT GUIDELINES

In line with the Federal government's commitment to simplify passport processing procedure, minimize or eliminate paper work, human contact, and make life easier for Passport applicants, Passport applicants will notice some slight changes in the payment system where they are now expected to upload their:

* PASSPORT SIZE PHOTOGRAPHS

* BIRTH CERTIFICATE (NATIONAL POPULATION COMMISSION) OR SWORN AFFIDAVIT OF DECLARATION OF AGE, for applicants born before 1992.

* CERTIFICATE OF IDENTIFICATION FROM THEIR STATE OR LOCAL GOVT OF ORIGIN

All from the comfort of their homes.

At the completion of payment, applicants are expected to choose a convenient appointment date, application form, payment slip and a printed appointment slip for acquisition of biometrics.

Upon automated verification of the uploaded documents, a notification is sent to the email address used to make the payment, to confirm either approval or query of the application.

Queries are expected to be addressed and reuploaded for further verification.

Automated approval or query notification is again forwarded in the same manner to the applicant's email address.

Successful applicants are notified to appear at the Embassy on the specified appointment date for acquisition of biometrics.

Failure to obtain a printed appointment slip may result in inability to acquire your biometrics.

Kindly note that applicants have three opportunities for answering queries. All queries not properly addressed by the third attempt or where same queried document is repeatedly uploaded, the applicant may stand the risk of losing his or her payment.  kindly let us be careful and be guided please.

In addition, kindly note that a pilot project of this nature would naturally precipitate some minor discomfort, but be rest assured that it is nothing to worry about. Such minor inconveniences are however, regretted. But with adherence to the rules, patience and understanding, we can all work together for a better service delivery that  meets global best practices and the satisfaction of all.
