LEGALIZATION OF DOCUMENTS

THE ATTENTION OF THE EMBASSY HAS BEEN DRAWN TO SOME SHARP PRACTICES BY APPLICANTS SEEKING TO LEGALIZE OFFICIAL DOCUMENT(S) AT THE EMBASSY. IN ORDER TO ARREST THIS UGLY TREND, THE EMBASSY WISHES TO NOTIFY THE GENERAL PUBLIC THAT HENCEFORTH, PART OF HE REQUIREMENT FOR LEGALIZATION OF DOCUMENTS(S) IN THE EMBASSY WILL BE THE PRESENTATION FOR CITING THE ORIGINAL TREASURY RECEIPT(S) DULLY ISSUED BY THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS, ABUJA AS EVIDENCE THAT THE DOCUMENTS(S) WERE GENUINELY LEGALIZED BY THE MINISTRY

PLEASE ALL ADMINISTRATIVE FEES FOR CONSULAR SERVICES SHOULD DIRECTLY AT THE EMBASSY:

———————————————————    I. Authentication of Documents

All documents such as birth and death certificate(s), marriage certificate(s), age declaration, affidavit of change of name (s) and non criminal certificate(s) issued by the Nigeria Police are required to be authenticated at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, Nigeria before presentation at the Embassy.

Requirements:

  1. An application requesting Authentication of documents.
  2. Original E-passport and Copy indicating his/her registration
  • Immigration card of the applicant indicating his/her registration
  • The processing fee is US$50.00

      II.Educational Certificates

All educational documents such as SSCE, University degrees etc are required to be authenticated at the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.

Requirements:

  1. An application requesting Authentication and stating details of institution and period/duration of study
  2. Original E-passport and Copy indicating his/her registration
  • Immigration card of the applicant indicating his/her registration
  • The processing fee is US$10.00 per document

III. Bachelorhood and Spinsterhood Certificates

Requirements:

  1. Properly completed form. Kindly download form online E-passport of the applicant indicating evidence of his/her registration where applicable
  2. Immigration card of the applicant

Physical presence of the partner or the International/National passport of the partner (In case the partner cannot visit the Embassy due to genuine reasons)

  • Copy of the data page of the passport of the partner
  1. Court Declaration from Nigeria indicating that applicant has never been married. The court declaration should be legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.
  2. In divorce cases, applicant who wishes to re-marry should provide divorce certificate
  3. Processing fee of US$30.00

* Please note that those resident in Ukraine are no longer required to obtain this certificate according to new law in Ukraine.

* Applicants are to kindly note that this certificate is issued only once

 

IV.Non Criminal Certificate

Requirements:

  1. Properly completed form. Kindly download form online
  2. E-passport of the applicant indicating evidence of his/her registration where applicable
  • Immigration card of the applicant
  1. Original Police report from the local authority according to the     applicant’s registration or place of residence
  2. Report from Nigeria Police and authenticated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( MFA ) Abuja
  3. Processing fee of US$30.00

 

V.The Embassy’s Consular Identity Card

Requirements:

  1. Properly completed form. Kindly download form online.
  2. 2 passport sized photographs of the applicant.
  • Copy of the data page of the applicant’s E-passport, evidence of registration, Immigration card and student identity card (for students only).

1. For re-issuance, applicants are to submit the previous identity card in their possession. If lost, applicants are  requested to kindly provide police report.

2. For extension of ID card applicants are to submit previous ID card before expiry date and original and copy of E-passport

3. Processing fee of UAH20.

 

VI. Letter of confirmation of residential address.

Requirements:

  1. Request letter (application) stating address to be confirmed
  2. Sworn Court Affidavit indicating residential address in Nigeria and authenticated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Abuja.
  • E-passport of the applicant indicating evidence of his/her registration where applicable
  1. Immigration card and student card (for student)
  2. Processing fee is US$10.00

 

VII. Letter of identification of citizenship

Requirements:

  1. Request letter (application) stating address to be confirmed
  2. E-passport of the applicant indicating evidence of his/her registration   where applicable
  • Immigration card and student card (for student)

Processing fee is US$10.00

 

VIII. Authentication of Business Documents

All business documents to be endorsed at the Embassy for use in Nigeria such as NAFDAC registration must have been authenticated by any of the host country’s relevant authorities (Ukraine, Georgia, Estonia, Latvia and Moldova) before presentation.

All business documents such as NAFDAC and etc. must be authenticated in:

Ministry of Justice of host country

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of host country

Chamber of Commerce and Industry of host country where applicable

Requirements:

  1. Application or request letter
  2. Copy and original contract of co-operation with Nigerian Company and (Ukrainian , Estonian, Latvian, Georgian, Moldovan or Lithuanian) company.
  • Business correspondence between Nigerian and Ukrainian, Estonian, Latvian, Georgian, Moldovan or Lithuanian company.
  • Processing fee is US$50.00

 

IX. Renunciation of citizenship

Requirements:

  1. Formal application (duly signed by applicant) addressed to the Ambassador
  2. Sworn Affidavit by the Applicant in court of Law in Nigeria and to be duly legalized in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.
  • Applicant is expected to present to the Embassy a document indicating that he/she is intending to acquire the citizenship of any of our host countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania or Moldova)
  1. Certificate of identification from the applicant’s local government of origin in Nigeria duly legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.
  2. One passport sized photograph.

 

  1. Original E-passport and Copy indicating his/her registration
  • Immigration card and student card (for student)
  • Applicant must surrender his/her E-passport to the Embassy after which a letter of renunciation will be issued.
  • Processing fee is US$30.00

 

X. Renunciation of Nigerian citizenship by children born in Ukraine by Nigerian Parents

 Requirements:

  1. Letter of consent or application by the father of the child.

Original and Copies of the data pages of the Nigerian Standard Passports of both parents of the child.

2. Copies of registration of parents of the child in Ukraine (or one of them).

3. Copy of birth certificate of the child.

4. Copy of marriage certificate of the parents where applicable

5.  Two recent passport photographs of the child.

6. A document indicating the intention to acquire the citizenship of any of our host countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania or Moldova)

  • E-passport of the child must be surrendered to the Embassy after which a letter of renunciation will be issued.
  • Payment of administrative fee of $20.00

All documents for consular matters and authentication are to be submitted on Mondays and Tuesdays  in person at the Embassy from 9.30 to 12.00 noon or by e-mail to consul@nigeriaembassykyiv.com .ua while collection will be only on Thursdays from 9.30 -12.00 noon.

Please note that documents submitted after Tuesdays will not be processed until the following week.

 

Applicants are to kindly note that all administrative fees for services as specified are to be paid directly  in the Embassy during document processing
